Ever since the election, I continue to get questions as to Why, or How. Why did you vote for Trump, or How could you support him given what he has said about….. The thing that often amazes me is the person asking the question, I feel, really doesn’t want an answer. They want to attack and when dealt with logic there really is no way to attack. The why is simple. I voted for Trump because during his campaign he outlined his “road-map” for America. “Make America Great Again” simply became the catchphrase for the movement.
So let’s talk about the “Why.” I have always identified with the Republican Party, however, that does not necessary mean that my voting block has always been republican. I have voted democratic in the past, and also independent (even though previous independent candidates did not stand a snowball’s chance). Sad to say, and much to my current dismay I even voted for Jerry Brown for governor of California. So lets talk about the “Why”.
- I am a conservative and believe in conservative principles.
- I am a strong constitutionalist and especially believe in the 1st and 2nd amendment.
- Our boarders needed to be protected (build the wall)
- Illegal immigration has got to be stopped. If you want to come to this country, do it legally.
- We (as a country) need to bring jobs back to America.
- Trade imbalances need to be adjusted.
- America needs to take care of Americans first and not send money overseas and pay a unfair distribution to organizations like the UN.
- For too long other countries have taken advantage of a liberal policy set in place by the previous administrations 8 years in office.
- The swamp needs to be drained.
- The educational system in in dire need of an overhaul.
- America needs to regain its power in the world stage.
- Our military and first responders need to be taken care.
- Create more jobs for Americans and get people off the welfare roles.
- Overhaul the tax structure, and put more money in the pockets of Americans and allow businesses to grow thereby creating more jobs.
- Present a strong military stance against terrorist (like ISIS)
To me these are concepts that I would think every American would support (with minor exceptions to the overall list). The problem becomes that the democrats are so incensed with the idea that their person lost they can not see past that issue to all the good that is being done in America. Lowest Unemployment Rate, Highest job creation, ISIS eliminated, Illegal immigration being curtailed at the boarder, Becoming a leader on the world stage (regardless what other countries state), and on, and on.
For the deplorables or the new catch phrase “Super Elite” it doesn’t matter what is in the tweet, or what was said, it is the results that matter. And some 500 days into Mr. Trump’s presidency, he has delivered on his promises, and will continue to work toward Making America Great Again and looking out for all Americans. And that is why I voted for our president, Donald Trump and will continue to support him. If all this was accomplished in 500 days, I am looking forward to his re-election in 2020.
