Understanding the ebay rules and how to win at the Game
Part 1 – The Basics
To win, it is important that we understand the rules by which we are playing by. I am generically referring to them as rules, but in the world of ebay they can be called “policy” “guidelines” “procedures” or any number of other terms. They are simply the established rules to play by.
So here are some of the basic rules for ebay to begin developing your winning game plan. There are some obvious things you need in your ebay tool chest.
- You need a ebay account – Now the nice thing is if you every bought anything on ebay you already have an account and can begin selling. If you never bought anything signing up for a account is simple and there are is a ton of information at www.ebay.com to assist you in this process.
- You need a paypal account – Again if you have ever bought anything on ebay you more than likely already have a paypal account. It has become the preferred means of collecting money from you customers that have just bid on and bought your item. If you do not have a paypal account, again it is simple to get one. www.paypal.com (note: paypal needs to link to your charge or debit account)
- You need something to sell – Again, this is obvious and as we go forward we can share resources to obtain things to list and sell on ebay. Go look in your garage or storage area. you might be surprised at what you might find.
That is fundamentally the basics of your tool box. Moving along discussions as to fees, templates, storefronts, and the mechanics of listing will be explored. Up next: “Part 2 – Fee structure”
